Even if you are using an iOS device for a long time, there may be lots of things you don’t know about this OS yet. The iPhone offers lots of hidden features to the users. These features and tricks can make your job much easier. If you are an iPhone user, learn these tricks to use your device in better ways.
Use your keyboard as a trackpad
Many iPhone users don’t know that they can use the keyboard as a trackpad. Using this feature, you can easily move the cursor accurately and jump to every bit of text quickly. With this trick, you don’t need to tap on the screen. You can use this feature on the iPhone with 3D touch capabilities, i.e, iPhone 6 or newer. You can use the keyboard as a trackpad feature on any iPad. On your device, press and hold anywhere firmly on the keyboard. It will immediately activate the trackpad. Your keyboard will go black and now you can use the trackpad. Drag the finger around through the text. If you are using an iPad, use two fingers to drag in any direction and it will activate the trackpad.
Hit backspace in Calculator
If you often use your iOS device for calculation then you may often feel frustrated due to mistyped digits. A single wrong digit and you have to start the whole calculations again. If you don’t want to do all calculations again then use the hidden calculator. Using this feature, you don’t have to use C or AC for every mistype. You have to swipe left or right on the screen where the digits are displayed. After swiping, the motion will work as a backspace command. Your lastly entered number will get removed immediately. Like a calculator, do you know putting the app in landscape mode? Using this mode, you can use the extra functions of your iPhone. But your phone must not be locked in portrait mode. Check the phone’s control center for managing the screen. Check for the lock with an arrow and toggle its switch to disable.
Hide the private photos
People store lots of photos on their phones. Every person wants to click a photo using their iPhone. People often have photos on their phones that they don’t want others to see. Using a phone lock is not enough as you often share your phone with friends and family members. Instead of getting sensitive while sharing a phone; hide your sensitive images. The iPhone provides you with a special feature where you can easily hide the phones and no one checks them. For hiding the images, go to Photos and then select one or more images. Now hit on the Share button and then tap on the Hide option. You will get a confirmation message. Select Yes and now all the selected photos will disappear from the library. Now check the hidden folder on your albums.
Medical ID section
The iPhone offers a special medical ID section to the user. This is very helpful when the person faces any kind of emergency. In this form, the person has to fill in his data like allergies, contact information(alternate phone number or address), severe problems, etc. Whenever a person hits on the caller’s emergency link, all these details will appear on the screen. During the emergency, the person next to you will get help to deal with your emergency. This ID section is also helpful whenever you lose your device. If a person finds your phone, he can get the way to return it to you.
To fill this section, go to the Settings app. Select the Health option and click on Medical ID. Hit on the Edit button and enter all the information. Toggle the Show When the Locked button to Enable. You can also use the Find My iPhone feature to locate your device on the map. Open the settings page and enable the Find My iPhone feature.
Receive notifications using camera flash
At home or the office, getting lots of notifications seems troublesome. Whenever the notification bell rings, every person starts staring at you. Instead of using the audible notification ring, go for the camera blink. Whenever you receive a notification, the camera flash will start to blink several times. You can check the notification on your iPhone easily. Open the Settings page and select the Accessibility tab. Now go to the Audio/Visual option and click on LED Flash for Alerts option. Toggle its button to enable. In case you don’t want a notification ring or camera flash; disable all of them.

Teach Siri to use Nicknames
Apple Siri can be a perfect personal assistant. People often use Siri to make calls or send texts. You can improve the calling speed by adding nicknames. Apple provides a special column so Siri can easily identify people. Add nicknames to the contacts like “Harry” with the additional nickname “My Boyfriend”. Now you can directly ask Siri to “Call my boyfriend” and Siri will dial a phone call to Harry. To add nicknames, go to Contact and hit on the Edit button. Select the Add Field button and choose the Nickname option. For assigning relationships, hit on the Edit option and go to Add related name. Enter the details and tap on the “i” button to add the relationship details.
User magnifier option
A good zoom-in camera is quite helpful. iPhones are also known for providing the best camera details. The quality of the iPhone camera is excellent. After clicking the phone, you can easily zoom in and check minor details. But when the camera’s zoom is not enough; use a magnifier. It can provide better details than camera zoom. Open settings and click on Accessibility. Now select Magnifier and enable it. Now open the camera and tap the home button thrice and the magnifier feature will appear.
